One of the most effective ways to acquire quality links to your website, is to have sites and pages that want to link to you. Having good quality content and the ability to create traction with your content is the most effective way to "draw" others to link to you. For example, if someone is doing well financially because of the decisions they've made and those decisions have been made known to many. That person will draw attention to themselves, and others will want to follow and connect with them because the perceived personal value of the relationship - how they will benefit. Natural link building produces a similar effect. With that said, having a strategy that will produce that effect is very important. For whatever you're trying to accomplish on the web you will need some sort of plan and a means to track, record  and interpret the results.
